Join a global celebration of lunar observation! International Observe the Moon Night. The staff of the Emil Buehler Planetarium and members of the Central Florida Astronomical Society will facilitate a night dedicated to our own natural satellite, the Moon. Telescopes will be set up to view the Moon, showcasing many of the wondrous features found there including craters, highlands, basins, and more! Participants will also be able to use their phones at several areas to take their own photos of the Moon. This event is FREE and completely open to everyone.
The viewing event will take place on the Seminole State College Sanford/Lake Mary campus at the central pond to the south of the E. Ann McGee Student Center. This building is on the opposite site of the parking lot from the planetarium.
Please see the link below for a pin in Google Maps. You are invited to park on the large parking lot adjacent to the Planetarium and walk to the central pond.
What’s in store:
- Our volunteer astronomers will be on-site with their visual telescopes and digital astrophotography telescopes. Be ready to be dazzled by the beauty of our very own satellite!
