📅 Friday, May 16
📍 Alliance Française of Orlando Offices – 1516 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32803 – Suite 120
🕖 7:00 PM (Refreshments will be served)
We are delighted to collaborate with the Alliance Française of Greater Orlando (AFGO) as part of their mini-conference series focused on French culture and exchanges between France and the United States.
This evening will highlight astronomy and space research. Derek Demeter, our Observation Chair will discuss the collaboration between American and French research teams, including studies conducted at the Pic du Midi Observatory on our Sun and the groundbreaking discoveries made possible by the James Webb Space Telescope, a testament to the technological alliance between our two countries.
We will also talk about how you can actually stay at the Pic du Midi Observatory and spend the night in the astronomers quarters and enjoy a gourmet meal before your observing session!
Join us to explore how this international cooperation is pushing the boundaries of our understanding of the Universe!
