IDA issues statement on LEDs
After the October 7 announcement that three Japanese physicists received the 2014 Nobel Prize for Physics for the invention of LEDs, IDA issued a statement calling for the responsible use of the new technology.
Grand Canyon and IDA staff work together
IDA staff members Matt Root and John Barentine recently traveled to Grand Canyon National Park to see firsthand how National Park Service staff are taking inventory of the thousands of lights in the park. IDA's work with the park will help Grand Canyon and other U.S. national parks achieve their goal of becoming International Dark Sky Parks.
Texas leads nation in dark sky protection
Texas is fast becoming a key national leader in dark sky preservation. Two of its state parks were designated Dark Sky Parks this year, galvanizing the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) to promote dark skies across all Texas state parks.
